APPROACH
In our modern society, we often live “beside our bodies.” We become disconnected from them, absorbed in our minds and caught up in the pace of everyday life. We accumulate tension without always being aware of it, until eventually the body forces us to stop.
For me, massage is a way of returning to the body, becoming aware of what is happening within it, and meeting the tensions that have taken hold. As tension releases, the body gradually regains its balance and fluidity.
Within an energetic approach, tension and blockages are understood as potentially interfering with the free flow of energy. By releasing them, we create space for energy to move more freely through the body once again. This idea lies at the heart of my practice.
The depth of my touch is not simply measured by the amount of pressure I apply, but by my ability to listen to the body, connect precisely with areas of tension, and accompany their release. Every person is different, and the touch adapts to their needs, boundaries, and pace.
Through Amma massage and Lomi-Atsu, I offer two ways of exploring this depth. One is more precise and rhythmic, the other more fluid and enveloping, but both share the same intention: to release tension, encourage a sense of circulation, and allow the body to reconnect with its energy.
MY JOURNEY
Touch and bodywork were my first gateways into well-being. I practiced massage therapy for several years before taking a different path—that of cooking.
Vegan cuisine then became my world as a culinary author with La Cuisine de Jean-Philippe. This allowed me to explore our relationship with our bodies, our food, and the ways in which we care for ourselves.
Today, I am returning to massage therapy with this entire journey behind me. After nourishing the body through food, I feel drawn to return to it through touch.
What continues to draw me to massage is the same idea: the possibility of slowing down, returning to sensation, listening to what the body is expressing, and releasing what has accumulated within it.
Today, I am rediscovering this approach with new experience and sensitivity through Amma massage and Lomi-Atsu—two practices that allow me to explore what lies at the heart of my work: the depth of touch, presence in the body, and the flow of energy.
AMMA MASSAGE
Both energizing and relaxing, Amma massage is a Japanese approach rooted in traditional Chinese energetic practices and considered one of the origins of Shiatsu. Like many Eastern massage techniques, it does not require oil and can be performed either through comfortable clothing or under a sheet, depending on the client's preference.
Amma is a very comprehensive and precise form of massage. More than 140 pressures are applied to specific points along the body's energetic pathways used in acupuncture, known as meridians.
Through pressure, acupressure, mobilization, and stretching, Amma massage encourages the release of deep-seated tension while creating a sense of vitality and connection with the body.
It is an approach appreciated by those who wish to relax deeply while maintaining their energy and alertness. Artists and musicians, for example, sometimes choose to receive Amma massage before a performance, helping them relax and reduce stress while remaining energized.
This duality is what makes Amma distinctive: deeply relaxing the body, releasing tension, while restoring energy.
In my practice, I place particular importance on the depth of touch. Pressure is adapted to each person, allowing me to meet areas of tension with precision, without forcing. The work unfolds through a rhythmic and deeply grounded movement, while remaining attentive to the body's responses.
Amma massage thus becomes an invitation to slow down, relax, and rediscover a balance between letting go and vitality.
LOMI-ATSU MASSAGE
Lomi-Atsu is a combination of two traditional massage approaches: Hawaiian Lomi Lomi and Japanese Shiatsu. This fusion creates a deeply enveloping oil massage that combines the fluidity of Lomi Lomi movements with the precision of Shiatsu pressure.
Lomi-Atsu is characterized by long, broad, fluid, and continuous movements performed with the hands and forearms. The body is gently carried by an almost uninterrupted flow of movement, gradually encouraging deep muscular relaxation and allowing you to step away from the pace of everyday life.
This fluidity is combined with more precise pressure on specific energetic points and meridians. The alternation between flowing, enveloping movements and deeper pressure allows us to meet areas of tension while respecting the body's rhythm and boundaries.
In my practice, Lomi-Atsu is above all an invitation to slow down, quiet the mind, and fully return to the body. The depth of the massage does not come from force, but from the quality of touch, presence, and listening.
It is this combination of fluidity and depth that gives Lomi-Atsu its unique character: a massage that allows you to let go, release tension, and gradually rediscover a sense of lightness and vitality.
